<p class="wp-block-paragraph">映画ホラー『REC レック3 ジェネシス』は、前2作からの大胆な路線変更となった映画です。第1作、第2作は、閉鎖されたアパートを舞台にしたファウンドフッテージスタイルのホラーでした。ところが本作では、冒頭こそホームビデオのファウンドフッテージで始まるものの、20分ほどで披露宴が始まりそこから通常の映画的撮影手法へと切り替わります。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">この変化には賛否両論がありますが、新郎新婦が離ればなれになり、それぞれの視点で物語が進行する構造を描くには、この選択が必要だったのでしょう。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">そして本作を特別なものにしているのが、結婚式という舞台設定です。人生で最も幸せな瞬間が一転して地獄絵図となるというギャップが強烈な印象を残します。愛する家族や友人がゾンビと化し、互いに襲い合う姿は、単なるホラー映画の恐怖を超えた痛みを感じさせます。特にクララが家族の一人と対峙するシーンは、彼女の表情に宿る苦悩が痛々しく、観る者の心を締め付けました。</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">教会の地下で丸太に突き刺さったチェーンソーを引き抜く姿は、『死霊のはらわた』のアッシュを彷彿とさせます。ハイヒールでゾンビの目を突き刺すシーンなど、機転を利かせた戦い方も見せてくれる強いヒロイン像は、観客の共感を呼びます。ただし終盤で彼女が感染し、夫コルドと悲劇的な最期を迎える展開は救いがありませんが、これこそが本作の持つダークな魅力でもあります。</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">演出と構成にも課題があります。物語の中盤ではテンポが悪く、冗長に感じる場面が続きます。披露宴会場の広大な敷地は前2作のような閉塞感がなく、「逃げられるかもしれない」という希望が極限状況の恐怖を薄めてしまっています。また、地下トンネルから脱出後に穴を塞がないなど、脚本の詰めの甘さも見られました。ただし、こうした粗は低予算ホラー映画にはつきものです。勢いとエンターテインメント性を楽しむ姿勢で観れば、十分に楽しめる作品でしょう。</p>
