
<p class="wp-block-paragraph">前作の映画「ミーガン」が持っていた魅力は、「<strong>子どもの親友として設計されたはずのAI人形が、過保護な論理で周囲を粛清し始める</strong>」というアイロニーだと思われます。それはホームドラマとホラーが奇妙に融合した、低予算映画とは思えないほど精緻なバランス感覚でした。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">それが今回は、打って変わってSFバトルアクションへと様変わりしています。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">前作の悪役が今回は善玉として登場するという構図は、ジェームズ・キャメロン監督の『ターミネーター2』を想起させるものです。ターミネーター2が成功したのは「恐怖の対象が守護者に変わる」というカタルシスを、前作との緊密な関係性のなかで描ききったからでしょう。SFアクション映画『M3GAN／ミーガン 2.0』では、その感情的な下地の築き方に、いささか駆け足な印象を受けました。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">それでも、「ミーガンという存在自体」の魅力は健在です。敵を追うカーチェイスシーン、FBIエージェントたちを翻弄するホームアローン的なトラップ、イベント会場でのロボットダンス。キャラクターのキレのある毒舌は変わらず、ひとたびミーガンが画面に現れると、視聴体験は一気に引き締まります。</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">正直に申し上げると、ホラーとしての恐怖感はまったく感じません。前作のミーガンが放っていた「不気味の谷」的な戦慄、「いつ豹変するかわからない」という緊張感は、本作では皆無と言っていいでしょう。「<strong>ミーガンは今回は味方</strong>」という前提がある以上、それは構造的に避けがたいことではありますが、チャッピー（2015年）が持っていた「AIの孤独と暴力が同居する恐ろしさ」のような深みは、残念ながら本作には宿っていないと思います。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">その代わりに画面を覆うのは、良い意味での「<strong>おバカSFアクション</strong>」の楽しさです。主人公ジェマが「またミーガンに頼るのか」と迷いながらアップグレードを決断する葛藤、敵AI「アメリア」との対決、スタジアム規模のバトルシーケンス。テンポは前作より速く、ブラックユーモアも増量されており、純粋なエンターテインメントとしての娯楽性は高い水準を保っています。</p>



<p class="wp-block-paragraph">前作を観ていない方でも、本編冒頭の回想的な展開と状況説明で概ねの文脈は把握できますので、SFアクション映画『M3GAN／ミーガン 2.0』から入っても楽しめる作りにはなっています。</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">ミーガンとアメリアの対比は、本作が一応のテーマとして掲げる「AIとの共存」の問いに直結しています。同じ技術から生まれながら、「守護者」として機能するかどうかは、その使われ方と育てられ方による──という主張は理解できます。ただ、そのメッセージが物語の中で十分に消化されているかというと、プロットの複雑さのなかに埋もれている感は否めません。脚本は登場人物、組織、陰謀が入り乱れており、中盤以降は「誰が何のために動いているのか」を追うだけで手一杯になる瞬間がありました。</p>
